About Me

Hello! I am a debut author of women’s and inspirational fiction, as well as poetry. Prior to focusing on creative writing, I worked for seven years in editing, public outreach/education, and communications for the governmental and nonprofit sectors. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan. I’m a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA) and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and have served as a first-round judge of the WFWA Star Awards.

I’ve had a life full of adventure including once helping to relocate a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park, fighting two wildland fires, working with inner-city Detroit schools, and fourteen years as a stay-at-home parent–the greatest adventure of all. I believe the key to a joyous and fulfilled life is looking up from the routine to take in the small miracles that surround us, shape-shifting clouds, the veins of a leaf, an unexpected smile. When I’m not writing or caring for my family, I love learning something new or being swallowed by a forest. I’m seeking representation for my debut novel, Letting Go of the Sky, a finalist for the Colorado Gold Rush Literary Awards in the Women’s Fiction/Romance category.
